-> ARTICLE #1: Cable Modem Connectivity Issues Revisited =======
---> Relevant for All WSO Accounts =============================
================================================================

Last newsletter we told you about potential connectivity issues
for RoadRunner and other cable modem users because of the
AOL/Time Warner merger.

Well, here we are again. Now that Excite@Home has gone under,
many of AT&T's cable modem users have either been temporarily
disconnected, or are experiencing very slow connectivity to
various parts of the Internet.

This is no myth, it is happening now. AT&T's own new network is
still being build and isn't to full capacity, yet they are
beginning to use it. Saturation of some routers has occurred
in hub cities where much of the data moves through.

Let us be clear that these problems do not affect your
connection to WSO anymore than they would affect your connection
elsewhere on the Internet. But there is always the possibility
that your connection to our servers could be affected out of
random chance, as has happened to a few customers we are aware
of. In these cases the slowness was fixed in a relatively quick
manner.

================================================================
-> ARTICLE #2: Creating a Secure Form Using FrontPage, Part 2 ==
---> Relevant for ALL Customers Using FrontPage ================
================================================================

In Newsletter #49 we looked at how to create a secure form using
FrontPage. In this issue we'll look at how to get the results
of that form back to your desktop securely.

The information here and in Newsletter #49 will allow a visitor
to send information through a form on your web site completely
encrypted. Then you will be able to retrieve that data back to
your computer securely. The data will always be encrypted as it
travels over the Internet.

Let's pick-up where we left off last newsletter. By now you
should have a working form that goes into secure mode when
viewed and when submitted. But the results are simply being
e-mailed back to you, and that is NOT secure for the most part.

So what we need to do is have the results saved to a file on the
server instead of being sent via e-mail.

Open up your web in FrontPage from your home computer. Then open
the page that has the form you are working with. Right click
on the form and choose Form Properties. Erase the e-mail address
you are currently sending the results to and instead enter a
file name.

A good place to put your results files are in the _private
directory. So, for example, you might enter into the box
labeled File Name:

_private/results.txt

Next click on the "Options..." button. Choose the File Results
tab. You'll see the file name you just entered there. Below that
you can pick the format of the results file. HTML might be nice,
but it will look terrible through SecureView. Use Formatted
text, it will look very nice using SecureView.

There are other options on that tab as well. In addition the
Saved Fields tab can let you add some extra info to each result
submission.

Click OK on each of the boxes and then save your newly edited
form web page. Next, publish the changed page up to your WSO web
site. The last step in this section is to go on-line and test
it. Submit the form yourself so that there is some data in your
results file.

To retrieve the results securely, you'll need to log into the
WSO SupportCenter and make use of the SecureView utility. You
can find the WSO SupportCenter here:

http://www.wso.net/support.htm

If you do not have or can not find your login information,
just let us know at support@wso.net.

Once you are logged in click on SecureView from the menu. In
the SecureView text box, enter the path to your results file.
Now, this path is going to be a little different since
SecureView and FrontPage have different "home" or starting
directories.

We'll use examples to illustrate the proper path.

Let's say you have a Virtual Domain or Commerce Plus account
named www.mydomain.com and you told FrontPage to save the
results of your form in _private/results.txt.

In SecureView you would enter:
www.mydomain.com/www/_private/results.txt

In another example, let's say your have a SubDomain account
named mysite.wso.net and you put the results in
_private/results.txt.

In SecureView you would enter:
mysite.wso.net/www/_private/results.txt

In the last example, let's say you have a FP Only account and
you put the results in _private/results.txt. This time what
you enter into SecureView is a little different but will be
the same no matter what is the name of your account.

In SecureView you would enter:
_private/results.txt

Give it a shot! If you really follow along closely, you might
just get it working the very first time. Let us know about your
successes, not just your failures.
