-> ARTICLE #1: FrontPage: Server vs. Home Computer Master Copy =
================================================================
If you are a Microsoft FrontPage user you have two options for
maintaining your web site. The normal procedure is to keep the
master copy of your web site located on your own computer. When
you make a change or update you make it to the files and folders
on your own computer. Then you hit the publish button and upload
it to the WSO server, overwriting and updating the changes to
the site.
But you can also maintain the site directly on the WSO server.
In some cases this is more desirable. For example, if you have
two people working on the site you need to keep one centralized
master copy. There would be no simple way to do this since each
person would be working on a different "copy" on their own
computer.
By directly connecting to the server copy, each person is seeing
the very latest version including any changes the other person
has made and saved.
The downside is that you have no personal backup of the web site
since the master copy is on the WSO server. We do nightly
backups, but having your own personal master copy is most
desirable.
To work with your web site directly on the server, open your
FrontPage program, choose Open Web from the File menu. In the
box type in the full address for your site, including the http
part. For example:
http://www.mysite.com or http://mysite.wso.net
You will then be prompted for your FrontPage username and
password. Once you are in and the web has been loaded, you can
edit the pages directly. When you press the save button you are
actually publishing the changes back to the server in real-time.
For some this may be the best way to work. But in most cases
making changes to a master copy on your own computer and then
publishing the changes is the safest procedure.

-> ARTICLE #2: WSO is Unblocked ================================
================================================================
Recently WSO was incorrectly placed on a blacklist of web hosts
known to be friendly to spammers. Of course this was absolutely
false!
After some searching we found a real phone number for the list
maintainer and called him. After we explained the situation we
were immediately unblocked.
If you were having problems sending e-mail to certain people in
the last few weeks, it may have been related to this issue.
Fortunately it has been resolved. We apologize for any problems
it may have caused you or your business.

-> ARTICLE #3: Apache Web Server Upgraded ======================
================================================================
A patch for the Apache Web Server was released and subsequently
installed on our machines. Our Apache Web Servers are now at
version 1.3.27.
Our Apache secure web servers were also upgraded.
